About me

On my way to earning a doctorate at Columbia University in1975, I was a community health educator for the cities of New York and Philadelphia. At a New Jersey college I developed a bachelor’s degree program focused on health services administration to articulate with nursing and allied health professions programs offered by five neighboring community colleges.

In 1976 I declared my independence from academia, and my husband and I struck out for geographic and intellectual parts unknown. Fifteen years down the road I discovered that the fluoride supplement I’d conscientiously administered to our child, prescribed by a dental school faculty dentist, was responsible for our child’s discolored teeth. Overnight I was transformed from an easy-going homeschooling mom to a zealous political activist. I met Dr. John Lee when he volunteered to speak at a public forum as part of our grass roots effort to prevent fluoridation of our water in Bellingham,WA. John changed my life with his extensive knowledge of fluoride research and by introducing me to bioidentical hormones.

After success in Bellingham, it was time to ease up on political activism, but I can’t put it to rest altogether. I still find intentional fluoride pollution unacceptable, and more broadly I’m passionate about all aspects of biocompatible living, especially natural birthing and childrearing. My husband and I are currently putting down roots in Greensboro, NC, and looking forward to being grandparents.
