It seems that we are to take our doctor recommendation as the only way to survival. With not taking into considerations the side effects of the treatment. They give use no alternative treatment for our ailments . How many doctors think out side the box out loud .

In agreement with the thrust of your article, I personally believe that one must take their own health into their own hands first. If you are more proactive regarding your own health, you won't have to worry as much regarding the healthcare system, as you will have less frequency to become a statistic in the health care system. Do some research on your own symptoms, try some nutritional supplements that are whole-food based and take a physical at least every 2-3 years, minus the mammogram. Look for alternative scanning for cancerous tumors that aren't as likely to cause more problems in the end. A little research will reveal promising alternatives.

If you're on meds, it's more than likely that you have over-medicated causing your body to become immune to that paricular brand or dosage. Take more nutritional supplementation that does not contradict your meds, and have the doctor decrease meds as your body regains its balance. Afterall, I believe that meds have their place, but just not in the human body for an extended period of time.

Exercise, eating right, living right is the best medication of all! I happen to be 52, no meds, under 120 lbs, exercise moderately, (can out-run many 20 years olds), my vitals rival a 30 something year old and looking forward to adding more natural supplementation to slow the aging process down even more without the government or Monsanto telling me I can't use natural supplementation at will.

“The absence of intervention doesn’t necessarily kill us.”...Absolutley brilliant! I've called it "Disease Hunting", which seems to a phenomena of the 21st century. A test for this, a scan for that. And for what? More than likely, treatment with a drug that will eventually become the lawsuit of the year drug. For most of us who are aging, aches and pains are a part of life. We're supposed to lose bone density. It's natural that it decline as the years pile on. Yes, our stomachs are more sensitive, our joints are more achey.
Loved this article!
