Information is sensory expression. The senses respond to their internal and external environment. This interplay of energies is expressed nicely by Eric Braverman, M.D. in "The Edge Effect".

The health insurance industry must reward proactive health care including self-education. The educational system must provide courses in nutrition starting in grade school. Medical schools must enable future doctors to evaluate the whole person. The FDA must support the production of ingestible items that promote well-being without negative side effects. Various other government agencies must protect and promote environmental health (water, soil, air and food chain).

I understand that each person's health is impacted by their parents' environment before conception and then the mother throughout the pregnancy. Otherwise, each person is responsible for his/her own health. Also, the external environment is the realm of local, state and federal government. The system needs overhaul and everyone must participate. Stop fighting against illness and focus on health by way of prevention. Within one generation, medical costs will plummet.

Words cannot express how much I miss Dr. Gottesman! I was so lucky to be able to be one of his patients before he retired. The man is truly magical - going to see him was like stepping into another reality. His "office" was in the middle of an antique apple orchard. Birds chirped. Wind rustled the leaves of the trees. Candles were lit. Sunlight filtered through the windows danced on the walls.

Through necessity I have found another holistically oriented doctor that prescribes the bio-identical hormones. But, although the new doctor is a very competent in a clinical way, there is no more "magic." Everything is cut and dried. Lab coats, prescriptions, and note pads. When I speak it feels like I am "rambling on" in a vaccum. There isn't that marvelous "intuitive connection" I had with Dr. Bob. I always felt like we were "on the same page" - like tuning forks that pick up the same resonance. It is different than emotionally understanding someone. It's beyond "psychology." It is also much more than a mental "data-matching" of symptoms to the names of illnesses.

The question is, can you"teach" that style of connecting to patients to other physicians? I suspect not. However, it might be quite a rewarding project to "attract" already intuitively-oriented/developed physicians, and build from there.

Anyway, I think of Dr. Bob often, and miss him every time I go to the doctor. After having been blessed to be one of his patients, I am always aware of what is "missing" when I go to anyone else.
